To Celebrate the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year last week, on June 21st, I headed up in the hills over La Cañada to enjoy the moonlight and the great views.
This is a good open trail, perfect for hiking under the full moon without lamps. Taking the fire road that leads up Earl Canyon to an old water storage tank at the top, overlooking the city lights. This is about 4.5 miles with an elevation gain of about 1200′.
Park in the Palm Crest School parking lot at 5025 Palm Dr, La Cañada. Continue by walking up Palm Drive, staying to the left until you find the entrance to the fire road.
I really need to take an real camera with me!
